Frequently Asked Questions

Is a professional chemical peel right for me?

A professional peel is suitable for anyone with Fitzpatrick skin types I–IV wanting healthier, more radiant skin. It is generally recommended to avoid chemical peels if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, actively taking oral acne medication, or have extremely sensitive or compromised skin. Your RN will verify if you are a good candidate during your consultation and recommend the right peel and possibly a series of treatments for your goals.

How do I prepare for my peel treatment?

3 to 5 days before your peel, stop using any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating—including products with retinoids, acids (salicylic acid and AHAs), or benzoyl peroxide. Avoid electrolysis, waxing, laser, or other facial hair removal procedures.

What can I expect during the treatment?

A peel appointment typically ranges from 30 minutes to an hour. After the peel is applied you may feel slight warmth or mild stinging as it activates. The peel usually self-neutralizes in 3–5 minutes and any discomfort subsides.

What can I expect after treatment?

Professional peels have little to no downtime depending on the strength and your skin. You may see some redness or light peeling about 48 hours after treatment, lasting up to 5 days. Your skin will be more sensitive to UV—apply and reapply sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) or avoid direct sun. As redness and peeling subside you’ll see refreshed, glowing results: reduced fine lines, improved luminosity, firmer skin, smoother texture, and reduced dark spots.
